Chinese font show as "??" or boxes in PDF

Hello, we use English & Tradition Chinese language in reg form page. Everything works fine, except when downloading the receipt(PDF) this Chinese font show as “??” or boxes. I tried Simple UTF-8, doesn’t work. Need to solve this soon.

We can look into this. Part of the solution may be to fork the Simple UTF-8 add-on and change it so it loads the DroidSansFallback.ttf font instead. Which is similar to what they did here:
https://github.com/dompdf/dompdf/issues/1508
