I have an event that takes place in Chile and the problem I’m encountering is that they use a “,” in currency differently from we do in the U.S. So the numbers I’m entering into the event for ticket price are coming out wrong. Is there a way to change this in Event Espresso? Or, could I remove the Price info from the registration front end that attendees see entirely? (I was thinking I’d just put the correct price into the description of the ticket and when they get to pay via Stripe they’ll see the correct amount).

Hi there,

One way to work around Event Espresso’s inability to set a different currency format per event would be to set up a sub site with Event Espresso activated on it for that event. This way you can set the currency to the format to match what’s used in Chile. Also, i you have a WordPress Multisite network it’s fairly simple to spin up a new site.

Thanks, that’s actually what I did and I set it to Chile in the payment settings, but when I create the tickets it still doesn’t seem to understand the comma vs. the decimal.

You can set the currency settings for the country you are using within EE.

First, go to Event Espresso -> General Settings.

Whatever country you have selected for your organization address there is the country EE will use, what do you currently have that set to? I’m assuming Chile?

If so go to Event Espresso -> General Settings -> Countries (tab)

Select Chile in the dropdown and EE wll load the settings it uses for that country.

You can set the decimal and thousands separators there – http://take.ms/uc9h3

Sounds like you need them setup the opposite of what they are now.

Ok, I have the Chilean pesos set correctly in registration with the commas and decimals appearing correctly in the amount. The problem now is when it goes to the payment screen using Stripe, the decimal is in the wrong place (so a $120 ticket in Chilean Pesos now shows as $120,000.) I’m not sure what to do next. Is this something to fix in EE or in Stripe
