Checkbox unchecked by default

How can i set it so that check boxes on a form is unchecked by default. In this case its for newsletter signup’s and the owners feel its a little pushy if by default it’s saying yes.

I’m pretty sure checkboxes should normally be unchecked by default without doing anything.
Was the PHP in your copy of Event Espresso modified to add that
style value checked="checked" to the form input?

Not that I am aware of and I cant find any mention of it in the code.

Is there a developer involved with this site that may have made an alteration to the code? You could try backing up Event Espresso, then re-install to ensure there’s no modifications to your installation of Event Espresso.
