Checkbox Text Wrapping on Registration Form

I’ve got a question on my registration page that uses a checkbox and one of the options is pretty long. The text is getting wrapped after only a couple of words and looks a bit goofy, seen here:

I don’t want it to wrap that quickly (would prefer it stay on one line if possible) and I’m assuming it should be a simple CSS change, I am just not all that familiar with the different classes in the CSS right now. If you could point me in the right direction that’d be great. I’ve moved the event_espresso_style.css into content/uploads/espresso/templates. In the template customization article you have published it says:

“1 – In order for the event_espresso_style.css to be used, you need to activate it in the Template Settings -> Enable default style sheet? by setting that to Yes.”

Does that option still exist, because I don’t see it? Or does EE look into that template folder for a CSS first, so if mine is in there it will automatically default to it? Just wanted to clear that up.

Thanks

Hi Yolande,

Can you share the URL so we can help? This should be a simple CSS change.

Yeah sure, this should be the registration page:

Thanks.

You are actually using the themeroller-base.css style. The legacy styles are no longer available in newer versions of Event Espresso. You can disable Themeroller and then use your style.css file if you want.

If you want to use the current themeroller stylesheet that you are using, you can edit the width on line 430 to fit your needs:

event_espresso_form_wrapper label, .event_espresso_form_wrapper span.label {

Then be sure to move the file to wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates

Oh wow, I did not even realize that themeroller was being used. Weird, I downloaded and installed EE about 3 weeks ago. Would it have defaulted to it? I have two different sites running EE and both of them were set to the same themeroller style (and I do not recall turning this option on). I disabled the themeroller option and the layout switched to what I am assuming is the style.css?

If you can check out the registration form I linked to again, it is looking pretty funky with the long answer option using the default css. Would it be possible to get the other checkbox option to fall below the first one? I want to make the same width change to the longer option that we talked about initially, is it under the same class in the event_espresso_style.css?

Thanks for your help

Yolande,

You may have outdated template files in the wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates directory. You can test this by clicking the “Rename Templates Directory” button in Event Espresso > Template Settings. This can be undone via FTP is there is a problem.

You can start with fresh templates from the newer version. If you have made modifications to the earlier versions templates, you can copy the modifications into the newer versions templates. When youre finished, you can copy the modified files into /wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates.

If you havent made any customizations, and youre simply trying to update to the new version of Event Espresso, you can remove the templates from /wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates using FTP or your hosts control panel file manager.
Please see this article in the documentation for more info:
