Our event is about take place and I had a couple of questions to hopefully ensure a smooth check in process.

1) We will have a handful of staff scanning tickets simultaneously. Is it a better idea to use just one generic login for all staff or should we create a few different ones? Are there any known problems we should be aware of if they are all logged in and scanning at the same time?

2) We had a few different pricing tiers for the event, raising the price as the event neared. We were concerned about having too many ticket types in a single event because we have noticed it causing issues in the past. To accomplish this cloned the event so we had a completely separate event and set of tickets with the adjusted pricing. We also had a few seperate events specifically for comp tickets. Is it ok to just leave them in their separate events or should we combine them into one event using the event mover?

Thanks in advance.

We actually recommend using the Application passwords plugin because it offers a lot of utility for this use case. You’ll have one admin account for the ticket scanners, but they can each have their own password. This is nice because you can quickly revoke a password and add more passwords as you go. Another benefit is the Application passwords will not allow access to the WP dashboard, they’ll only be able to use that password to log in to the app.

We’re not aware of any. If your hosting allows that number of connections along with any connections from normal website visitor activity it will be OK.

It’s OK to leave them in their separate events. One possible thing to be aware of is if someone shows up without their ticket then it may be trickier to find their registration if there’s uncertainty about which event they registered for.
