In short, you just need to reset your license key once you’ve moved (there’s a button next to your license key in your account page to do it).
We designed the license system NOT to cause disruption to your events/registrations etc if there is an issue so if you move your site and it triggers an issue with the license, you’ll see a notice in your admin and you can’t use the one-click updates, everything else will work as it does now.
EE will still function as normal so that:
1. Regular situations like this don’t just cause panic to get your license fixed so that events/registrations work again. Moving servers is ‘normal’, can be stressful enough and we simply don’t want to be part of the cause of it π
2. Any issues with our licensing server do not then break everyone’s sites, for very little benefit to us.
Anyway, I’m rambling π short answer.
Once you’ve moved servers, go to your account page and click the request reset button, we’ll process that on our end and you’ll get an email with instructions.
Note that if you move servers and run into issues where events/registrations stop working its 99.99% nothing to do with your license key so don’t request a reset an wait for that hoping it’s going to fix it (it wont)… request a reset and open up a thread explaining the issues, we’ll troubleshoot from there separately from your license request.
