I am trying to change the button text on my site from “View Event” which is confusing for registrants to “Register”.

Here is the button now:

I have created a site specific plugin and pasted multiple functions into the plugin like is suggested here:

but the button text doesn’t change no matter what.

(Note: all of the examples I found say “View Event Cart” or other text. It seems that none of them have a register button that says “View Event” like mine.)

I am using EE4 and WordPress 4.7.4
I would appreciate any guidance on this. Thanks!
