Hi there. I am wondering how to download the style sheets for the UI for EE. I would like to change the font, highlight certain boxes, etc. but when I try to grab them from my server the transfer fails and I get an error message that says, “Failed to open “/jquery-ui-1.9.1.custom.min.css” for writing. I want permission to take it and change it. Can I do that?

Hi,
The styles used by Event Espresso are actually done by jQuery, the Themeroller system.
You can actually create new Themeroller “themes” that can be used with Event Espresso, here’s a guide – https://eventespresso.com/wiki/how-to-create-custom-themeroller-styles/
The error message you got sounds like an FTP/server issue.
