Changing Price for unpaid registrations

Hi,
In our implementation registrants have the ability to not pay when registering for an event using the check option. I was curious if there is a way for the admin to change for the price of the ticket after registration is approved?

Thanks!

Hi there,

You can’t change the price of a ticket if that ticket has registrations on it but you can create a new ticket and use the attendee mover add-on to ‘move’ them onto that one.

Would that work for you?

I was thinking the same thing but wanted confirmation, thanks!

Hi, I’m trying to figure out how to actually do this. I can’t seem to move the registrant into the same class thus can’t move them into a different ticket. Is there a step I’m missing? Or the process different if I want to just move them into another ticket.

Why can’t you move the registrant onto the same class?

On step one select the Event, use the event ID to find the event. Note that the attendee mover will display a date next to the event name and that may appear to be the ‘wrong’ date as its using the primary datetime for the event.

On step 2 select the new ticket with the correct price and proceed through to verify etc.

If you can’t do the above, can you post details of which step you are stuck on with the attendee mover?

I think I see the issue. Can I assume that the event selection list on step one will not show events that are past the date of the event?

Correct, it won’t show events where the datetime end date has passed, those are considered expired.

You can set the attendee mover add-on to include expired events using this snippet:

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/eea-attendee-mover/#customizations

You can add that to a custom functions plugin on your site, we have some documentation on creating one here:

Great, the snippet works!
The only issue I’m running into is the search function, in step one, is bringing up all events even if I type the specific event code like #3059 or the whole name. I have to scroll through the entire list of events to find it.

Way to fix that small issue?

Thanks again

The search is based on the Event Name, using the Event ID won’t return any results.

The event ID (and the datetime) is added based on the search results via JavaScript so it’s not actually used in the search at all and is a reference for you, the admin, to identify the event when searching for events with the same name.
