Is there somewhere where I can see a list of changes to the latest version of EE *before* I install the latest updates to the plug-in?

Whenever I click on the “learn more” link in WordPress next to an EE plugin update, the ‘Changelog’ tab is always empty. Most plugins usually display some release notes here.

The latest EE update introduced a new feature (Display Events With Expired Tickets defaulting to “no”) that caused a significant issue on our website this week because we were unaware it had been added and defaulted to ‘no’

We’ve since fixed the issue, but it would have been useful to have known about this change before we installed the update, and I’m keen to know where to look before making future updates. Thanks.

Hi there,

Previously we posted all of the changes within EE to this page:

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/ee4-changelog/

We’ve since moved those within the repo HERE.

Is that what you are looking for?

Hi Tony, and sorry for the delay in coming back to you.

Thanks for clarifying where the current changelog is.

If I had a suggestion/request, it would be to make these release notes a bit more human-readable, more customer-focused (less developer-focused), and clearer when any new/significant changes are made.

From looking at this changelog, it would be pretty easy to miss the item that relates to the new feature I raised above (#1179, I’m guessing?), and not realise the effect it would have on my website before it was too late. A more human-readable changelog might even reduce the amount of time you spend on support issues…!

Thanks for your help,
Shaun
