Hi Collin,
This can be done either by translating the plugin language files or by using a php script like this.
You could also change the core files but this is harder and not recommended.

Hi Collin,
Where are you looking? If you’re using poedit, there’s a search/find feature. So in the case of the register button, you can type “Register” into the search field to find the string you need to edit.
If you’re using the gettext filter in a function, you can type the exact string you’re trying to replace. Here is an example that includes a change for the register text (it gets changed to “sign up”:
