New to EE4 (previous EE3 user). I have a customer who bought a $40 ticket event and I moved them to a different event (via attendee mover add-in) where the cost per person on the new event is $20 so I need to change the ticket quantity on their registration to 2 (not 1) to reflect the $40 total (they are bringing a second person to the new event). I cannot for the life of me figure out how to do this. Help?

Hi Melissa,

In short, with EE4 you would need to cancel the original registration and create a new one selecting the correct number of registrations as EE4 does not allow you to alter the number of registrants in a group.

I can walk you through how to do that within the admin if needed?

No thank you I can do that. But this is not ideal as the payment transaction will be lost. This was something I could easily do in EE3 so not very happy about this lost feature is an upgrade.

The payment isn’t lost, you can manually apply the payment including the TXN ID (which for almost all payment method is what links the payment) sent from the payment provider to the new transaction.

Create the new registration, then view its transaction.

(Open the ‘old’ transaction in another page/tab)

Click Apply payment on the new transaction and provide all of the details from the old one.

(You can click the icon next to the old payment top open a modal with the old info which you can then copy)

Again incredibly manual process so hoping this is being looked at to make easier in another update. Also in EE3 I could copy/paste dates… cannot do this in EE4 in any date field and it takes forever to have to manually click on the calendar popup to set dates and hours and minutes. So far EE4 is making my job more tedious versus EE3.

I can pass your feedback along but this isn’t something we are currently working and so is unlikely to change ‘soon’.

You can copy and paste dates into the EE4 fields?

You can also type out YYYY-MM-DD and the date picker will automatically switch to that date, then just the time sliders to set.

Which specific field are you trying to copy/paste?

Correction… I cannot copy and paste dates into any the EE4 dates fields using keyboard shortcuts Cmd C/V but it does work with right click copy/ right click paste so I can do that.

I can copy/paste dates into EE just fine using both methods.

Are you sure there isn’t another plugin (or the theme) interfering with the fields?

Doubt it… nothing has changed since I used EE3 and I could use keyboard copy/paste shortcuts in EE3… it’s just the date fields only that it doesn’t work in on EE4.

EE4 works completely differently to EE3 and uses different date pickers so you can’t really rely on ‘it worked with EE3’ when dealing with EE4.

I’m a Windows user but I’ve never had any issues copying and pasting the date picker fields within EE4, I’ve asked other members of the team (mac users) and they’ve not had issues either (Josh just test to confirm) so I’m guessing there’s some JavaScript loading on your site that is conflicting.

A quick way to test would be to sign up to the DemoEE4 site and test there, that will confirm if it’s a browser issue (it shouldn’t be), failing that you could try using the Health Check plugin to troubleshoot.

If you enable that plugin and go to Dashboard -> Tools -> Troubleshooting -> Enable Troubleshooting.

What that does is disable all plugins and switch you to default theme but only for you, the admin, then in the admin bar go to Troubleshooting -> Manage plugins and enable Event Espresso 4.

Do you then get the same issue in troubleshooting mode?

(When finished don’t forget to go to the Admin bar and disable troubleshooting mode to get your site back to ‘normal’)
