Just installed EventEspresso yesterday and am loving it. Going to dive into the customization and documentation, but needed a quick fix if possible. On the event registration page, I would like to change the word “Price:” to “Suggested Donation:”
I’ve changed the wording on event_list_display.php and registration_page_display.php but “Price:” still seems to be showing up. Any help is appreciated. Thank you!
1) Download Poedit.
2) Download event_espresso-en_US.po from /wp-content/plugins/event-espresso/languages
3) Open event_espresso-en_US.po in Poedit
4) Do a search for “Price” and in the translation box, change that to “Suggested Donation”
5) Upload back to the /languages folder
Just keep in mind that doing this, you’ll need to keep that modified version of the .po file handy because it may be overwritten when you update Event Espresso. That’s the easiest solution for what you are trying to do.
Thanks for the quick reply. I gave this a shot and unfortunately nothing seemed to change. I double checked and ensured the .po file on the FTP is the edited one, but “Price:” is still showing on the Event Registration page. Is there something I need to change to make the translation trigger? Thanks again for your help.
Yeah, it’s actually the .mo file that gets read, but the .po file that can be edited (for whatever reason I don’t actually understand).
