Change order of Category Legend

hello,
I want to know if there is a way I could change the order of the categories that are displayed in the category legend on the calendar page. Currently it is ordered alphabetically but I would like to order it according to our most popular events.

Yes you can with a bit of PHP and JavaScript code that you add to your website. Please see this github gist for some example code:
