Change H1 tags to something else for SEO

Hi,
I need to change the H1 tags that are used for the event list titles to something other than H1. I have them hidden using css, but they still affect SEO even though they’re hidden.

I tried changing the tag from H1 to <span> in the loop-espresso_events.php file, but nothing happens.

<header class="page-header">
	<h1 class="page-title">
	   Upcoming Events</h1>
</header><!-- .page-header -->

Is there a place for me to change that?

That’d be the correct file, but maybe you’re loading the template from the wrong location. Did you copy the loop-espresso_events.php template to your WordPress theme?

Nope, I didn’t copy that file to my theme. Should I?

If you don’t copy it to your theme you’ll lose any changes you made every time you update Event Espresso.
