Can I have an answer? The excerpt works very bad on the main event espresso section and display a lot of characters.

and i use that shortcode: [ESPRESSO_EVENTS category_slug=cooking-classes limit=100]

Looks like you’re using an older version of Event Espresso. You’ll need to update to a more current version (we recommend the current version) for the code snippet to have an effect.

sorry josh I have some problems with the new version, can you help me with this issue? I really have a lot of problems to set excerpt on eventespresso, I try a lot of tricks for set up this on wordpress but nothing works…

No need for tricks, this is the solution that will work:
1) You update to Event Espresso 4.9.23.p
2) You add this code to your website:
https://gist.github.com/joshfeck/4bfdcaad62671a65583bac52df8e32eb
You can add the above to a functions plugin or into your WordPress theme’s functions.php file.
If you have problems with 4.9.23.p please let us know what they are and we can help with that.
