We have an event registration form setup for parents to register their children for classes. We’ve changed the labels on the first and last name fields to “Parent’s First Name” and “Parent’s Last Name”. Then we’ve added a “Student’s Name” field to the form.

Basically, parents are getting confused/concerned when they register their child in a class, because the authorize.net email receipt has the parent’s name as the attendee. We would like the “Student’s Name” to appear as the “Attendee: ” in the authorize.net item description.

Is there a way to pass a new item description to authorize.net without modifying the plugin?

You can view one of the forms here.

Thanks in advance.

Hi there,

This would require an edit to the Authorizenet payment gateway.

Are you using AIM or SIM to process payments?

Hi Lorenzo,

We are using SIM.

Hello again, I spoke with a developer about this to confirm. Currently, it takes place in the authnet_vars.php file. Here is a screenshot of the code snippet that shows the Attendee name:

You could edit the line but that would be lost on a software update. I’ve gone ahead and added this as a feature request to allow customization to the information that is sent to Authorizenet.

If this is something that you need to have right away, then please take a look at getting a support token and a developer will work with you directly to get a permanent solution in place:
