Hi, we are considering moving some of our events to a subdomain to solve a problem with tax. Some of them require taxes and some don’t, and currently we have some events with multiple payment options depending on the taxes necessary for that location, which is clunky. (Here’s an example: https://www.novalda.com/events/team-coach-supervision-2022-thurs/)

Our other set of events requires a country limitation which the first set doesn’t limit, and does not include taxes.

We’d like to have the taxes be more automatic, so it seems to make sense to put the country-limited events on a subdomain with a different instance of Event Espresso and wordpress. The events on the subdomain would be linked from the main site.

Does this make sense as a solution and do you see any issues with it?

Thanks for your help!

Hi Kerry,

We’ve seen users do something similar when they want to use different currencies for specific events (EE does not support multiple currencies at the same time currently) and I can’t think of any ‘issues’ with this set-up.

I guess the only thing to note is that events on the subdomain will not automatically list on the main event, but if you are linking to them it should work fine.
