Hello All,

I am using EE to set up different classes and have a category and description for each class. I would like to be able to create an event and have it use the category description as the event description. Is this possible?

Hi Clair,

In theory it is possible, but however you look at it, it will require custom development.

One way would be to modify the templates and do a check on the category and if X category then replace the description.

Another way would be to create a custom shortcode that can be inserted into the event description and pulls in the category description.

We have a list of recommended developers here – https://eventespresso.com/developers/event-espresso-pros/

Hi Dean,

Thank you for your quick response. I was hoping there was a bit of code that I could swap out, but that doesn’t look like it is the case. I think I will just spend a few extra minutes per event rather then get something redeveloped.

Thank you very much.
