I have added a catogory under events – categories and added a description (note when i add a new category there is no option to display this per this doco below (says category parent)
i have created an event and enabled this category but its not showing the description in the event
an ideas please? pretty urgent as I need to get this up and running today

Hi there,
It turns out that the documentation you referenced is for Event Espresso 3, there isn’t an option for Displaying category descriptions on the event page for Event Espresso 4. The reason for this is because Event Espresso 4 uses custom post types, and most WordPress themes will automatically display the category description in the event listing archive. If the theme supports it, the category description will display on the event category archive, which is:
yoursite.net/event-category/category-slug
It sounds like you want to display the category description on the event page? Is that the case here? If so, you can add a bit of code to your website and it will display a category description for the event automatically.
