this happened after i test a rare but posible situation, emptying the cart items from 2 different tabs in the same time.

Now the cart shows 2 items instead of one or in other cases none, but still with the same default total of 1000000.

– cleared cache

– tried on different computer

– deactivated all plugins

– all plugins up to date

-renamed the templates folder in /uploads

-deactivated & reactivated event espresso

No change.

Hi John,

What version of Event Espresso are you using? If it isnt the latest please update, as there was an issue where the 1 million price amount (actually not a bug but a way to stop people from hacking event prices) was showing incorrectly.

IF you are currently on the latest version please advise and provide a link to your events so we can test if possible.

The website is currently not visible to the public, being under development, so I’ve sent a suport request.

My cart is showing a total of “3000000”, no dollar sign beside the total, and it is appearing on multiple browsers.

When items are added to the cart, their cost is added to “3000000”.

Running EE 3.1.32.P

Wondering if this is somehow an MER conflict? My client couldn’t see the “3000000” problem until he added a 2nd item to the cart.

@Bill Kaczor,

Do you have any Event Espresso add-ons installed, and if so are they all on the very latest version? Particularly the member’s add-on, this has some pricing functions that will override things and needs to be in sync with the current version of Event Espresso.

Add-ons I’m using:

Calendar
MER
Recurring Events
Social Media

All are up to date, and no others are installed.

Thanks for the update Bill.

One other thing that you might try:

Can you try temporarily renaming the /wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates folder to something like /templatesOFF to see if that makes a difference? You may need to clear your browser’s cache before testing to make sure it clears out the session.

Ah, yes I see where you’re going with this. I renamed the folder “templates/OFF” and Firefox corrected it’s base total, but Chrome did not.

I then added my custom code to the updated version (from the newest version of EE) of the template pages registration_page and registration_page_display. These are the only ones I’m using.

Same thing – Firefox is fine, and Chrome is still 3000000.

Hi Bill,

If you’re only using the registration_page and registration_page_display.php templates, then the event_list and event_list_display.php templates should be removed from /wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates.

Then, after you remove them, you can try opening up an incognito window in Chrome to test. This will ensure that the session is cleared.

Got it!

All working again. Thank you so much for your help! Must remember to update templates every time I update EE.

After some more testing it looks like,in my case, the volume discount is the culprit for the misbehavior.

I already replaced the files with the ones from your website, just to make sure everything is ok, but i still get the 1000000 total

Hi John,

Which version of the Volume Discounts add-on is installed? If it’s deactivated you’re not seeing the issue with the two tabs opened at the same time with the cart items being removed?

Event Espresso Volume Discounts Version 0.4

Here is a more detailed explanation of the situation.

I had 2 event categories, “has_discount” and “general_admission”.

Having both categories checked on an event causes it to show twice in the cart.

And besides this, the volume discount still couses the 1000000 total in the cart when enabled.

I have sent a support request for this issue if you would like to check it. Unfortunately i can’t put the website live until all this issues are resolved.

This is happening to me too, I have checked all activated add ons and I am using all up to date.  I am not sure what and how exactly I am supposed to check the templates.

Thanks

Hi Jonathan,

Can you please start a new thread on this? It may be that there are outdated template files in /wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates, and we can help you troubleshoot this if you start a new thread and give us the URL of the event where you see this happening.

I’ve reproduced this issue on a fresh Wordpress intall, with only Event Espresso as a plugin and Volume Discounts + Multievent Registration addons.

The 1000000 issue occurs when  if a event that does not have a category selected is added to the cart.

This couses the event do not show in the cart and the total to display 1000000.

A temporary workaround is to create a another category and use it for the events that don’t have discounts.

Hi John,

I think this was fixed this week with the Volume discounts add-on. We’re working on testing it.
