Cart is showing no tickets selected and says no Event selected

When someone mostly on a mobile device tries to register then go to the cart or Payment Page it says 0.00 and says to select an event. The event consists of 2 choices, “Member” and “Guest of Member”. When I do it I have no issues. when someone outside my office tries, they get the “No Event Selected” on the Cart or Payment Page. It also stuck on the text edit tab for the description. All plugins are up to date and we are using WP version 5.0.3

Hi there,

The pages on your site are being cached, it looks like you are using GoDaddy hosting so I’m assuming you are using the GoDaddy Managed WordPress hosting as we’ve seen this multiple times with that package.

However, we spent some time back and forth with GoDaddy to find the best way to disable the caching on their servers and found that GoDaddy support give users conflicting answers when you try to disable their forced caching, some say it can’t be done, others say it can and then we’ve had reports of users sites randomly re-enabling the cache on the site again.

It’s for this reason we added GoDaddy to the list of hosts we don’t recommend:

When has Godaddy put on the list? we did not see it when we purchased the plugin back in 2017.

I’d already checked your site as your license key is linked to the domain and the exact issue is every page on your site is being cached on the server side.

what is the deal with the “No Event Selected” message?

Because the pages are cached, your ticket selections are not being passed to the checkout page so it displays the nothing in your event queue error.

Also, we never had any issues with other events until now and we were always on Godaddy Managed WordPress.

Then something on GoDaddy’s end has changed and your site is now being cached when it previously wasn’t.

We’ve seen this happen multiple times with various hosts that force caching, you can’t cache e-commerce/dynamic pages like the ones EE uses. You need the same exclusions (using the correct page slugs, for example your ‘registration-checkout’ page uses the slug ‘checkout’), only with GoDaddy they don’t allow you to exclude specific pages so you must disable the cache.

When has Godaddy put on the list? we did not see it when we purchased the plugin back in 2017.

I checked the post revisions for that post and GoDaddy was listed in every revisions I checked from now up to 4 years ago, I stopped checking after that.
