we have been trying to upgrade on a dev subdomain with no luck , the plugin fails to install at 10% several times all while refreshing the database. |

Hi Ted, Are you looking to update from version 3.1.37.7 to 3.1.37.8 or to Event Espresso 4? As an aside, I see that you have the Event Espresso SSL/HTTPS plugin. That plugin is no longer supported or recommended, and we recommend this one instead: |

we are just forcing ssl server side now anyway yes we need to get to current version also need to put up a site unavailable wheile you are doing it so that nobody can login, we have 10 instructors over 100 classes and people registering every day. please advise. also i see that my support token still says redeem. need this done asap please let me know what the next step is |

You’re already on 3. Is there a feature in Event Espresso 4 that you need that 3 doesn’t have? Probably the more important question is, is there a feature that you depend on that’s in Event Espresso 3, that’s not in Event Espresso 4? ive been told that the latest version would allow us to keep the classes info live after the class was full. so that people still have a way to double check location, times etc. also we are planning to mod it so that woocommerce and event esspresso coupons are one in the same. we are currently having issues with the coupons not showing up in the export class attendee exported data so we just want to be as current as we can before modding. |

You would not necessarily need to update to EE4 in order to display class info after the class was full. I posted some code that shows how to modify that for EE3 in your other thread: https://eventespresso.com/topic/need-classes-to-still-be-visible-after-they-are-full/#post-209386 |

ok so it sounds like upgrading to 4 might be something you dont recommend? isnt there a danger in getting too far behind? i dont want to run into more issues in the future and have to recreate the entire database for an upgrade |

Since Event Espresso 3 and Event Espresso 4 are two completely different platforms, you’re not getting behind if you stay on Event Espresso 3. Where the recommendation to not update to EE4 comes into play is if you like the way the promo codes in EE3 works now, then you probably shouldn’t update to EE4, because in EE4 the promo code features are totally different. |

EE4 promotion codes (and EE3 promotion codes for that matter) were not designed to work with WooCommerce. As far as the CSV reports in EE3 go, there should be a 10th column that’s labeled “Coupon Code”. When you export a report from EE3, is that column missing or are its table cells blank where there should be a code there? |

Hi Ted, Since you’ve sent access via the support token form I can look into this. Can you reply with a few registration ID’s where the promo code is missing so I can investigate further? |

ok so after further digging with the client the problem is actually quite different it turns out that the promo codes are showing up in the export fine when a user uses them to pay. but the problem they are having is they often have to move a user from one class to another and when the admin inputs the promo code manually into the “add attendee” form it dosnt show up on the exported attendees spread sheet int he promo codes table. they need this to happen because they need admins to be able to know which user paid with which code. is this a bug ? you can see where i tested this myself using this event with the user “Mike Likes” please advise asap we would still like to upgrade to latest 3 version is this pretty straight forward? |

It’s not a known issue where the promo code input in EE3 doesn’t make it into the attendee export, but I can look further into this for you. For what it’s worth, EE4 does not have the feature (yet) that allows adding a promotional code via the admin, so it may be best to stay on EE3 in the meantime if you need that feature. |

Okay I identified what was wrong and put a fix on your site so going forward those codes should get recorded as you expect them to. |
