Cant Update Tansaction Status to Paid when using Paypal

I have EE4 installed in WordPress and have set up Standard PayPal payment only. They payment goes through fine with PayPal but on Event Espresso the transaction shows as Abandoned or Failed even though under Payment Details Gateway Response the message is “Your payment is approved”. As a result of the transaction not registered as Paid, the default email notifications are not sent either. Any help/guidance on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
