Dear Espresso,

I have an event that is recurring until Christmas. I wnat to delete the events in the future since we are changing it. It is an ongoing event.

I can’t see all the instances of the event, although they appear on the calendar. I therefore can’t delete them unless I delete the series which I don’t want to do.

My current work-around is to view on the calendar, edit the specic day I don’t want any longer and change the status to “Deleted”. The effect is what I want in that the item no longer appears on the calendar, however it isn’t clear to me if this status is a logical delte or actually physically deleting the record. And the problem remains that I don’t see every occurrence in the back-end events list.

I am on the latest version. Any ideas?

Thank you……………… liz

Can’t you use this function in the Recurring Events Manager to handle that?

Hi Garth,

I think this may be a filter problem. what i have now found is that if I page though month by month the events do show in the (backend) overview listing. what i was doing was filtering based on “Lounge” I have an event called Tango lounge, this is et up to recur monthly, the event dates were defined manually. On filtering I only see four:

  1. is the original one I created with recurrence
  2. is one that I amended making it unique
  3. is like the first and is (now) the end of that original series.
  4. is a new event I created last night, it is actuially the same event but it was easier to create a new espresso event. It recirs until christmas 2012 on the third sunday of the month, the dates have been done manually, it is “ongoing”

So my questions are:

  1. When filtering where have the other events in series 4 gone?
  2. does changing the status to “Deleted” cause a logical delete or physically delete the record?

Thank you……… liz

  1. You might try looking in the database to see if they are still there.

  2. Changing them to deleted will move them into the ‘deleted’ status. Once they are in the deleted group, they can be permanently deleted.

They certainly don’t show in the Events overview.

More importantly is filtering working? My “Lounge” search results are definitely wrong.
I was going to load an image of my search results but perhaps I can’t upload files?

Do you have more than 500 events? If so, you’ll need to change the range in the box below the more than 500 events warning to start with event #501.
