I can’t manually mark an event as sold out by changing the capacity to zero. I want to close the registration, but I still want to have the event show up in the calendar. Did something change in this new version? What steps do I need to take to do this?

Can you try it again?

Go to EE dashboard -> Open the Event -> on the Update Event Block click edit and save as sold-out.
https://monosnap.com/file/fz381lf9TydjXMlqmHv7sT8yyHVxTT

If it did not work, can you check if there’s a plugin conflict?

let’s do some test on the plugin/theme conflict. check the guide here.
https://eventespresso.com/wiki/troubleshooting-checklist/

You can use https://wordpress.org/plugins/health-check/ or any similar plugin.

You can do the above using Troubleshooting mode:

Tools -> Site Health -> Troubleshooting -> Enabled Troubleshooting mode.

That will disable all plugins and switch to a default theme and then allow you to enable specific plugins troubleshooting mode. Once disabled you will revert back to the current state.

thanks

Hi when I did this it made all remaining tickets for later dates turn to sold out as well. Now I am unable to switch it from sold out back to published. How do I switch it back to published and then set a specific date to be sold out rather than every event date under that name to be sold out as well. Please respond urgently this may be costing my business.

Hi there,

Can you link me to the event so I can take a look? Or tell me the event ID and I’ll check from that (I assume the site is the one linked to your license?)

Hi when I did this it made all remaining tickets for later dates turn to sold out as well.

Above you asked how to set the event to be sold out… if you set an event to be sold out, all of the tickets within that event… will be set to sold out becuase the event itself is sold out.

How do I switch it back to published and then set a specific date to be sold out rather than every event date under that name to be sold out as well. Please respond urgently this may be costing my business.

I need to see the event to see why you can’t update the status so I’ll add more details (or ask more questions) once I’ve had a look over the event.

hi, so I need the event High Angle Technical Rescue Level 1 ID: 15008 to be switched back to published instead of “sold out”.

Additionally I need the Working at Heights Refresher ID: 26365 Date August 16th and September 10th to be marked as sold out but ONLY those dates, not the event as a whole.

Please help me and advise me how I can do this on my own moving forward. Please let me know what changes you will be making before you make them. THanks

I’m not making any changes currently… I don’t have any access to your site and I’m just viewing the setup to see what is happening.

What site am I looking at? Can you post a link?

We EventEspresso.com don’t host/store any of your event data so I can only see what a regular user can see. I don’t know any more information that anyone else viewing the site.

You need to go to event and click View then send the link to us.
https://monosnap.com/file/kcGBI5LsogTvgZULJhgru2Lwtsocnu

Additionally I need the Working at Heights Refresher ID: 26365 Date August 16th and September 10th to be marked as sold out but ONLY those dates, not the event as a whole.

in this case, you have to go to tickets, then set the quantity of available ticket to zero or the # of ticket sold.

Here is the event that is tagged as sold out and will not change back to publish : https://acuteservices.com/courses/high-angle-technical-rescue-level-1/

Please if there is a way we could call and walk me through the steps instead of going back and forth on here I would really appreciate it.

When I tried to set the quantity of tickets to zero, it went to sold out and then immediately back to available. Do I have to see the quantity to the amount of tickets that have been sold already? THanks.

Even when I have tried switching the quantity to the amount of people who have purchased, it gives me an error while updating the ticket

Hi Chris,

Can you please try the trouble shooting to see if there is any conflict and let us know the result?

If still facing issue then please share the login so that we can take a closer look:

There are no conflicting plugins or themes I have went over that already and found nothing. The error I get os when trying to switch anything related to the ticket is “error updating ticket” from a toast message in the bottom right hand corner. This will not allow me to change the amount of tickets still available or change the name of the event.

Hi Chris,

Thank you for the info.

At the time of setting an Event “Soldout”. You should press “Save Soldout” instead of “Publish”.

Here is an image of what it should be: https://tinyurl.com/2d55a6sy

I’ve set this ticket as sold: https://acuteservices.com/courses/high-angle-technical-rescue-level-1/

Once you click “Publish” the event will publish again.

Hope that helps.

Hi I asked you to please not change anything without my consent before hand. I Only have issues with updating the tickets amount of available tickets left. Please fix this as the High angle rescue should still be not sold out. PLEASE if you can call and troubleshoot with me. I need help with the WAH refresher.

Chris Keller

I have switched the high angle back to published and it should remain this way. I am asking why I am getting errors when trying to switch the amount of tickets still available for specific dates of the Working at heights refresher course.

Lets do the following.

1. Update the plugin to latest version. 5.0.23
2. Enable the troubleshooting.
https://eventespresso.com/wiki/troubleshooting-checklist/
3. Recreate the issue above.
4. Get the Log and paste it here.
5. You can also make a loom for us, so we can easily recreate it.
https://loom.com/

if we can’t recreate the issue on our end, we will be needing to get your site info.

thanks.

Hi we have updated Event Espresso and followed everything above. Let me completely reiterate what issues we are having as this is getting quite ridiculous that we haven’t had a solution provided.

1) We are unable to change the amount of remaining tickets for an event so that a specific event date is considered *SOLD OUT* and users are no longer able to purchase tickets for that date. A toast notification pops up in the bottom right of the screen saying “error updating ticket” with no further explanation.

2) We are unable to create new events as well even after updating the plugin and believe the issue is related to the issue above.

Please respond to each issue we have with a step-by-step process on how to resolve these. If you are able to do a zoom or google call to resolve this issue quicker that would work as well. We need this issue sorted IMMEDIATELY as these issues are costing our business money each day if this is not fixed.

Thank you,

Sam

Hi Chris,

To get to the root of the issue we need to navigate to the site and events.

So if possible, can you please create a development site and upload a backup of the site for testing?
Or if it’s okay we can clone the site to test locally to find the issue for you.

Hi Chris,

Generally, we don’t troubleshoot issues through Zoom/Google meet but I’d like to take a look into this and will do a meet with you today if you’re available?

What times work best for you? (I’m available most of the day but have a couple of meetings scheduled between 5pm and 8pm BST, I’m based in the UK)

Edited – 5pm through 8pm taken now
