Cant Add a New Ticket?

I can create a new event, but when I create an associated ticket with the event, and click update, the ticket does not save, only the event and the ticket disappears – no error message. Wondering if this is a max_input vars issue? and also my excerpt changes do not save, even though when I click update it appears like its working. I can provide you with the login information if needed.

Hi there,

Wondering if this is a max_input vars issue?

Possibly but we wouldn’t normally see this on the initial ticket unless something else is loading a huge number of inputs on the page before the ticket section (we’ve seen themes do this in the past).

and also my excerpt changes do not save, even though when I click update it appears like its working.

So, this is different.

Is the except saving in the editor but then not showing the change on the front end? If so that’s a caching issue.

If it’s not saving the excerpt changes at all then that could be linked to the same issue from above (be it max_input_vars or something else).

Which specific version number of Event Espresso 4 are you using?

I assume it worked previously on the site?

Hello we are using 4.10.29.p

The excerpt and the ticket is not saving in the back end.

It did work prior, then we upgraded and I cant make it work.

I did just try to create a new event with an associated ticket and received this error message upon trying to update.

Notice: Undefined index: edit_prices in /var/www/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso-core-reg/caffeinated/admin/new/pricing/espresso_events_Pricing_Hooks.class.php on line 492

Maybe this has something to do with my issue?

Let me know if you would like a login and password to see the issue.

Hi there!

Thanks for getting back to us!
We are sorry for delaying answering your ticket.

I have noticed you have Event Espresso activated on:

As you mentioned, everything is working fine before the update to the 4.10.29.p, is that right? If so, we know that something different is happening between the websites. Could you share with us in a private reply the temporary WordPress access to http://6bb.f30.myftpupload.com/? In this way, I will be able to run a couple of tests to try to find out what is going wrong.

I am waiting for your comment on this!

Hi there!

Thanks for getting back to me!
I have checked your system information under Event Espresso > Help & Support and noticed that the PHP version is outdated (version 7.0.33). As stated in the WordPress Requirements, the PHP version must be 7.4 or higher. Please, ask your hosting provider to save a full website backup and update the PHP version.

Let me know if it works!

Hi there!

I am sorry you are still facing this issue even though the PHP is updated. I have accessed your Dashboard, and it seems to be a plugin/theme conflict since I was able to create a sample event with two different tickets with no problems. You can see it here: https://6bb.f30.myftpupload.com/classes/support-event-espresso-event/

Screenshot URL: https://cln.sh/NDQn1Q

I recommend you try to add a new ticket after switching the default WordPress theme to yours, and if it works, do the same, but enable plugin by plugin until the problem remains. Find more details in our article: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/troubleshooting-checklist/

Let me know about your findings!

I just received a critical error when trying to access my site via wp-admin. My tech support found a PHP Fatal error coming from the event-espresso-core-reg plugin. He deactivated it and I was able to login. We are using EE 4.10.29.p and running PHP v 7.4. Any advice?

I am unable to edit my previous note; correction, we are running PHP v. 8.0

I spoke too soon! I am unable to access wp-admin… my apologies for all the posts!

PHP 8.0 appears to be the issue. We reverted back to 7.4 and it now appears to be working again… I hope! Thank you!

Hi there!

Thanks for getting back to us!

You can find the previous response that I was able to create a new ticket with no issues when I switched your theme to the default WordPress one and left just Event Espresso plugin activated (that is a process we call by Testing for Theme and Plugins conflicts); for this reason, you found your website with different styles for a while – everything is like before – I kindly ask you to follow the steps recommended in my previous reply.

Let me know if it works!
