Cannot update from 3.1.30.7P-FINAL-BETA

I have just renewed a personal license and am trying to update EE. I cannot. I get the message:

ownloading update from redacted – Event Espresso support team – LOC

Unpacking the update…

Installing the latest version…

Removing the old version of the plugin…

Could not remove the old plugin.

Plugin update failed.

If I try to download and install the latest version, I lose all my events.

It sounds like you’re trying to update from a pre-release, which would have a -pr after it. We typically recommend only deploying the pre-release to a testing/staging server.

If you manually update this time, you can delete the /..final-beta version afterwards and going forward the auto updates should work.

One big difference between .30.7 and the newer versions is older/inactive events do not automatically display in the event overview. The newer versions have a status filter that you can set to display the older events, which is why you might not have seen the events after you updated.
