I upgraded to the newest version of EE. I am also on the newest version of WP. I have been having issues for some time now. I cannot update events, my listing are incorrect. Its a mess. I begrudgingly purchased a renewed license in hopes it would help and so far it did not. Can someone please help me?

Hello,

I am sorry to hear about the trouble you are having. We will be glad to help you in any way that we can.

Can you explain what you mean that you can’t update events and that your listings are incorrect?

Thanks Jonathan. I have been using it for a year now and loved it. But recently when I would add a new event it would try to load it and then would give me an error saying cannot load events. So i upgraded everything. Now when I create an event, even one that has a price, its says its free and will not allow them to fill out the information I need. The email I get from registration is completely different now also. Just frustrated, im losing customers over it right now.

Hi there,

When you updated to the latest version of Event Espresso, did you also update the add-ons too? Also, are there any template files in /wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates?

The errors you are seeing indicate that there are out of date template files (from a prior version of Event Espresso) in the /wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates/ directory.

If you have modified templates in there, they need to be updated to use the new template files included with the current version of the plugin.

If you haven’t made any modifications to the files in the /uploads/espresso/templates they can be removed. If you are not sure if there were modifications made to these files, you can back these up or rename that folder just in case.

You can automatically rename the /wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates folder by going to Event Espresso>Template Settings and clicking the “Rename templates directory” button near the bottom of the page.

Josh, that helped a little bit, renaming the directory. I can now see my correct event and fill out my information, however when the click submit nothing happens, goes to a blank screen.

Also, look for any files and folders in wp-content/uploads/espresso/gateways

You can rename this directory to /gatewaysOLD. If you had made customizations to the previous version’s gateway files, these can be re-made with the new gateway files.

Hi there,

We’d be happy to take a look if you can post a link to the registration page where this is happening. I can also recommend deactivating any non – Event Espresso plugins and switching to the default WordPress theme to help narrow down the cause of the issue.

Hi

Your theme is from Themeforest and sometimes authors from there like to add a bit of code that can play havoc with plugins shortcodes.

Can you look in your themes functions.php to see if there is code similar to this

If there is you can either try to remove it or you can try wrapping your [ESPRESSO_EVENTS] shortcode on the default event registration page in [raw] tags?

eg [raw][ESPRESSO_EVENTS][/raw]

I have this on two sites. both with the same theme and it has worked great for one solid year. Now all of a sudden its going haywire.

http://sportsmetrics.org/certification/event-registration/

That is the location for the registration. You can select register and fill out your information, once you hit submit it goes to a blank page. Again I am using this on anther site with no issue and with the same wordpress template.

Hi there,

It looks like it might be a conflict with the contact form on the registration page. Can you disabling the contact form on the page that has the [ESPRESSO_EVENTS] shortcode on it? If the contact form is set up via a widget, the widget logic plugin will make it possible to remove the contact form from that page.
