I have been setting up multiple promotions, some are automatically applied and others are promotional codes. The first three I was able to set “Promo is Exclusive” to “No”. Now each promotion I add, even after saving it as “Promo is Exclusive” to “No” it switches back to “Yes”. How can I fix this? The promotions are all not exclusive. |

Hello, Are you running any caching services on your site? I’m wondering if you are saving and then when it refreshes, you are seeing a cached information rather than the latest. Who is your web host? — |
|
Hi, There are no caching services or plugins on the site. It’s not a caching issue as I cannot apply a promotional code on the Payment Options page, it gives an error stating that the promotional code cannot be combined. When I click “Save” on the promotion page, it says “Promotion has been successfully updated.” but “No” next to “Promo is Exclusive” switches back to yes. The site is hosted on a VPS with FullHost. |

I did just update to 4.8.36.p this morning. Everything else is up-to-date. |

Hi there, Can you go to Event Espresso – Promotions – Settings, then set Reset Promotions Settings? to Yes, then save settings? Then you may need to update the settings there, save again. Now that the settings are reset, does the Promotions are Exclusive setting stick when you save a promotion? |
|
Hi, I reset the promotion settings as per your instructions but the “Promo is Exclusive” still switches back to “Yes”. |
|
That’s very strange that it’s doing that. May I ask, if you set “Apply Promo to ALL Scope Items” to Yes, save, then set it to No, then save again, does that setting stick? |
|
Hi Josh, The setting doesn’t stick when the “Apply Promo to ALL Scope Items” is set to “Yes” as per your instructions. Am I missing something… the first three promotions I entered I was able to select “No” for “Promo is Exclusive”, but now it will no longer stick. Can I force this change in the database? The first three still act as non exclusive (until I edited one), even through when I click “Edit Promotion” it shows “Yes” next to “Promo is Exclusive”. |

As an update to this, I am manually editing the promotions within phpMyAdmin. All that needs to be done is to set PRO_exclusive to 0 for each promotion under the *prefix*_esp_promotion table. This sets “Promo is Exclusive” to “No”. There must be something wrong with the latest update as I never had this issue before. |

Hi there, We would for sure see the same issue if it was something wrong with the latest update, but we’re not seeing this on our test sites. You’re welcome to try the previous version to see if it makes any difference though. You can download a copy of the prior version from this link. |

Hi Josh, |
|
The other thing you can try is go to Event Espresso > Maintenance > Reset and reset the Event Espresso capabilities. This will ensure that your user account has the capability to change a promotion’s rules. |
