I’m using Event Espresso 4.8.42.p and I have to delete some transactions. I get the black transparent overlay without content as described in this topic: https://eventespresso.com/topic/cannot-delete-transactions/. I have found what is causing the error. In the previous topic Tony Warwick mentioned “We’ve seen this caused by incorrect formatting in the translation files”. I’ve deleted my current Dutch translation files and after everything works fine.
I was glad to find what is causing the problem but I have the following questions about solving it in a bit more detail:
1. Are there examples of incorrect formatting? (Maybe specific lines that prevent this functionality from working?)
2. Is there a way to find where incorrect formatting excists within a .PO file?
3. Is it incorrect formatting within text or is the .MO file damaged?
The translation I am using only translates parts of the font-end and that is all I need.
4. Does the translation need to be complete?

If so, we could search for some of those translation strings against our GlotPress project to see if we can spot the issue. Then we’ll ask you for feedback on the updated translation and then a new MO file could be generated.

Hi there,
Before I can answer 1, 2, or 3, I should ask did you download the translation files and modify them or are they the stock files? If some strings were modified, which ones?
4. The translation is fine if it’s not complete.
