My conference is next week, so I decided to try to log into the mobile app and test the application. It appears we are getting the dreaded, “You are not allowed to list events” error. Based on the support forums we need to either update the htaccess or ngix configuration to allow the head authentication. The issue is WordPress.com hosting 1. Doesn’r run apache 2. Will not let you add customer configurations to the ngix configuration. Is there another way of getting this to work? We deployed QR codes, not bar codes. Any thought I how I will be able to scan in attendees? |
Can you give us more detail on what is happening here? what is the account you’re using? are you using a custom role that you created or you’re using wp-admin? if you’re using custom account, can you check its capabilities? You can install a plugin such as User Role Editor. Then go to Users -> User role editor. Select the ‘Events Administrator’ role in the dropdown You can find the default capabilities that should be set on that account HERE. Do they match up? Thanks |

Hey Rio, Some permissions were not set. That fixed it. I have a second question, let me know if I need to open a different post. We had an additional question at registration (Tshirt Size). Is there anyway we can see that answer when registering using the app? |
Hi Dave,
Can you please give us some details about this? A screenshot of the issue would be easier to understand. Looking forward to helping you. |

We give away tshirts at our conference. During registration we have a question called “T-Shirt Size” it is a Dropdown question. We need to see the answer to this question when checking people in. Ideally, the mobile app would show the answer when the check-in was successful. The other option would be that the answer is printed on the ticket. I see the custom shortcode [RECIPIENT_ANSWER_*], which I believe should be used with the follow syntax ([RECIPIENT_ANSWER_*T-Shirt Size]. However when I try to add this to the default Ticket message, it won’t save. I do not see where I can specify to use a particular custom ticket message for my event. I can give you screenshots, but honestly not sure what to screenshot. |
Yes, you have to open new thread for different topic. as this thread can be helpful for other EE user, mixing 2 different topic could be confusing. You mention that it can’t be saved on your default ticket? Is there any error saving it? or it just keep you adding new template? thanks |

Hey Rio. I got it solved. That was the issue, every time I would edit the custom ticket, it creates a new one. Annoying but I was able to get the thsirt size on the ticket. Thank you! |
We are glad you got that working now. Please feel free to ask if you have any other questions. |

Hello, Just to give more information on this, that can be useful for other EE user The link under receipts will be for edit, and the brush icon is to create new template. thanks |

Rio, Thank you for the clarification. Might I recommend changing the icons? Paintbrush is universally used for design/edit. Make that the button the design button and add a separate button for duplication (using the two page icon). The use of tooltips would probably answer a lot of questions as well. |
Yes, Will submit that for review for our tEEm. thanks again and have a wonderful day. |
