Hi, I’m just curious in a hypothetical scenario, if there is a way to ‘hack’ EE4 to charge a cancellation fee?
Our organization does have this rule, but if we just apply a refund through EE4, it can show a partial refund, or it will, in other words, show that a part refund is still owed to the cancelled registrant.
We were hoping to find a solution that would make the accounting look ‘clean’ if you know what we mean.
I tried searching the forum but couldn’t find much specific to this.
What you can do is set up a “Cancelled registrations” event, you’ll set the event to Draft (it won’t be Published so no one can try to register for it). You can set the ticket price to be whatever you charge for the cancellation fee.
Then you install the attendee mover add-on. Then when it’s time to cancel a registration, instead of canceling, you move the registration to the “Cancelled Registrations” event. This will automatically cancel the original registration and the price difference between the original registration and the cancellation fee. After that then you can apply the partial refund in the transaction.
