I saw from 2020 Roadmap that this was being considered. We use EE for a school and although we would like to still control refunds (eligility is an issue) we’d LOVE it if a student cancelling a registration changed the number of available tickets to be sold. Side Note: we currently do not have WP create a User from Students who register for classes, we would probably have to change if we were to allow them to cancel, correc? Does the number of Users cause problems – do people tend to cull their User list to keep things neat and tidy? Are there down sides to having the student be entered into the site as a user? (assuming a cancellation can be triggered from such a scenario). Thanks Guys! |

Hi Shelly, How are you today? The My Events page that is part of the WP User Integration add-on would require people to have a WordPress user account to access that page. The number of users in WordPress does not really matter, unless you’re talking hundreds of thousands of users. If you’re not talking those numbers, then the number of WordPress users profiles won’t matter. As an alternative to using the WordPress User Integration add-on, we have built another add-on for attendees to self-serve cancel themselves without an account. This is done by using a new add-on and a special shortcode in the Registration Approved message template. That special shortcode give attendees a special link and verification code they can use to cancel their own registration (no refund processed). I could give you access to that new add-on if you want to test it. It’s not officially available for release, but it’s close. |
