Hi,
I have setup a test domain using the same license key as the live domain so that i can test WP and plugin updates before implementing them on the live site.
Today when I went to update there was an EE3 plugin update. I am getting a message in the dashboard saying I’m using the license on more than one domain.
Does EE allow for the use of the license on a test domain? I can provide the domain URL.
Thanks,
Elaine

Hi Elaine,

If your test site is using a dev. or staging. subdomain then yes, if not you’ll get the above notice. I can see your site is not so using either of those subdomains so you can’t use the key on that site.

You can either remove the key from the dev site and manually update or set up a dev./staging. domain for the site. We can’t manually allocate specific domains to your account.

Hi Tony,
Thanks for your reply. It’s a shame EE can’t allocate a domain.
Can you point me to info on how to manually update EE plugins?
Thanks,
Elaine
