—Sorry for the re-post, didn’t see an option to move my last one to this section or to delete it completely—

A few quick questions before I purchase:

Can I have 2 calendars?

Is there a way to create a calendar for Events and an additional calendar for school Classes?

Can I create a calendar for Events and not show the school Classes within the calendar?

Can I create the Events as an article-like entry?

Can I create registration for Classes as a page instead of an article-like entry?

Can I create a feed on my homepage for the events that will link to a page w/a calendar?

Thanks!

Hi,

I know one of the community members Orest responded to you on the other thread (which I have closed as duplicate), but here is my responses:

Can I have 2 calendars? Is there a way to create a calendar for Events
and an additional calendar for school Classes? Can I create a calendar
for Events and not show the school Classes within the calendar?

Yes to all of these, using the event categories you can create numerous calendars that are specific to a category (e.g. classes, fetes, etc)

Can I create the Events as an article-like entry?

Not 100% sure what you mean by this, but Event Espresso allows you to post the events as standard WordPress posts and also custom post types (requires the Custom Files Addon) in addition to the events created by the plugin.

Can I create registration for Classes as a page instead of an article-like entry?

Well yes but it is some work to do and a fairly manual process involving shortcodes. It is easier to use the post style process where the events are listed, but also have individual registration “pages” containing all the info.

Another option would be to again use the Custom Files addon and create a table like structure that can be added to a page. It will require some html and basic php knowledge..

Can I create a feed on my homepage for the events that will link to a page w/a calendar?

You can use a feature in the events which redirects the user to a page of your choosing on click so that they are pushed to the calendar page, though I would personally think about the number of clicks it takes the user to sign up.

If you have any further questions, please dont hesitate to ask.

Another 2 questions on the same topic:
1) Can you post other events to the calendar that people won’t be registering for. For example post “Holiday Hours Today” on the calendar…or a “Women’s Day” that doesn’t require registration or payment. We like to keep people informed via the calendar. Is this possible?
2) Is there a way to sidebar widget “Today’s Events” and “Upcoming Events” from the calendar? We like to have them visible on our front page.

Thanks for the info!

Hi Shannon,

1) Remove the registration form in the Event Options. The event will display on the calendar, but there it won’t display a registration form.
2) Are you trying to add a widget or modify the widget we have now to display Upcoming Events?
