Hi,

We have the event espresso business license. I am trying to learn how the roles and permissions add-on works, and I was wondering if we could assign event managers (or administrators, I still don’t know the difference) on a per event basis.

Let me explain the application we are looking for. W want to have a few users being able to create and manage their own events, but we don’t want them to be able to edit the other events we have. Is that posible using the Roles and permissions basic add-on? If so, how? and if not, is there a way of doing this?

Thanks!

By default, with Roles & Permissions active, the person who created the event is the only one able to edit the event other than WordPress administrators and Regional Managers (in Pro).

Hi,

Thanks for your quick response. I see that only the creator of the event can edit the event, and that helps, but is there a way of filtering the evenets so that users only see the overview list of the events they are staff members of?

To give you an idea. We have a lot of small group meetings in our organization. We purchased event espresso hoping to replace eventbrite. With the current setup, we create the events, and give the event leader access to see the list of attendants and communicate with the attendants by sending them emails. So far we can do this with event espresso by giving event admins permission to view the Event/Attendee List Page, but the issue is that the event admin gets access to the entire list of events for the organization, giving them access to see attendees, and send emails, to the entire list of events. Is there a way to filter this, so that the user only sees the events assigned to them?

Thanks!

Not currently. Staff members and event managers are not the same thing in Event Espresso. The only way to do this at this time is to install the User Switching plugin, switch to that user, then create the event as that user. That will give them access to that event. We are looking into adding a feature that allows admins to switch the ownership of an event to another user.
