Hello,

We have events where people will need to register at the door during the event. We had an event today that started at 4:30, as soon as 4:30 hit no one was able to register online for the event. How can we have it so we can still register people for the event at the start time and during the event?

We’d like to keep all registrations in one place.

Thanks

Tony

Hi there,

It sounds like your ticket ‘sell until’ time was set to the time the event started, you’ll need that set to the event end time

Like so – http://take.ms/sDnu0

Can you check the event you mentioned above and confirm if the sell until time on the ticket matched the event start time on the datetime?

Hi, we actually had the tickets available for about 2 hours after the event. But we didn’t change that until the day of the event. Should this be something we have to do beforehand?

My apologies, but I’m not really sure I understand your question.

The tickets have a date and time set on them that you manually set when you create the event/ticket, so you set that date and time to whenever you want the ticket sale to end. EE does not change that value once you’ve set it so the sell until value is completely under your control.

You don’t need to change the value prior to the event date (although you can if you wish), just set the sell until date and time on the ticket when you create it to be at least the event end date/time and users can register right up until the event ends.

Are you not setting the ticket sell until date when you create the event and just using the default value?

It would not be necessary to make the change beforehand because the change could be made while the event was active if need be. The important things are:
1) Make sure you save the changes by clicking on the Update button in the event editor.
2) Make sure the Ticket Sale End date & time matches the Datetime end date & time. If the Ticket Sale End date is later than the datetime end time, the ticket sales will stop at the datetime’s end time (because at that point the event is expired).
3) If you use caching you might find the changes will not appear right away. If that happens, you’ll clear the site’s cache.
