Event Espresso Version 3.1.33.2 When I create a new email using the email manager, I can enter a name for the Email and also enter a Subject for this email. However, I can not enter any text into the text field using either the “Visual” or “Text” windows. I have tried using three different browsers – Chrome, Firefox and Safari. When I click on the field, I do not get a cursor…nothing appears. |

Hi David, Is this affecting other editors as well such as the event editor or is it just the email? Do you have any plugins that modify the editor at all? |

The event editor is mis-behaving as well as the email editor. I will email you my log-in details so a fix can be applied. |

Hi David, There is an ongoing conflict between Event Espresso and plugins/themes that modify the Tiny MCE editor (the event description boxes). Currently the modifications cause issues with the Event Espresso editor. Currently in 3.1.X there isnt much we can do about it as it would require a complete rewrite of our plugin to accommodate these types of modifications, which is why our general response is to turn off the other plugin. Unfortunately for yourself your theme is modifying the editors which makes things more difficult. From 4.0 (which is a complete re-write) onwards I believe we have modified the code to reduce or perhaps even stop these types of conflicts. There may be a way to turn this modification off in your theme but it would likely require a code edit. IF you would like me to look into that further I would require FTP access to your site. |

Thanks for the reply. I understand there may be a conflict. However, we were able to use the editor to create our initial events as well as emails. Have been using the same WordPress template and there have not been any changes or updates to that template. I will shoot you the FTP information in a private message. |

Hi, I had a look at your site but I can only see that it is the theme that is generating the extra editor content and thus conflicting. I did not test further as it is a live site and I did not wish to stop functionality, but I would recommend disabling all plugins except Event Espresso. Then test the event editor to see if it is functioning. If it is functioning then it is a plugin conflict, activate one plugin at a time and test until the culprit is found. If, with all plugins except Event Espresso deactivated, the event editor is still not functioning, then the conflict is with the theme. |
