Hi. Will be purchasing EE4. If my customers typically pay by check, and we already have it set up with our bank to do that online, can I lead them to that payment gateway? Or do you have an example of what happens with your “Pay By Check” option?

Hello,

The check payment gateway will not automatically process payments. It provides information to your attendees/registrants on how to complete the payment.

Payment gateway settings: http://cl.ly/image/3W2D071o3v1r
Instructions during registration checkout: http://cl.ly/image/0c1c012w3x16

You could provide information on how to complete the payment in the payment address textbox but this payment would need to be manually updated in Event Espresso.

Thanks for the speedy reply and samples. Does the set up allow adding a hyperlink in the instructions box so they can click right to our payment portal that is already set up with our bank to take checks online? Any samples of that code?

Also wondering what the “Electronic Fund Transfer” looks like in a sample and what functionality that offers. Thanks

Hello,

You can change the text that is entered. The screenshot that I shared was for the default settings:

Also, you can setup a demo site here to check out EE4:

Thanks I’ll play in the sandbox, good idea to offer that. It is a little frustrating that I can’t see all the solutions in the forum even though I’m logged in and took the step to create a login. I can sort of understand you restrict access to those who purchase, but researching that solutions to those problems exist is part of my purchasing decision. Anyway to “turn that on?” as a number of questions I have have been addressed (which is the purpose of this format in the first place I imagine!) and it would increase my confidence and ability to answer questions from the decision makers (which is the most important reason why I have the information accurately.) Thanks

Hello,

Here are the settings for EFT/Bank Transfer:

http://cl.ly/image/2b0g2b2W0m01

It works in a similar way as the check payment gateway in that it provides information on how to complete the payments.

It does not automatically process any payments.

Hi
If I use PayPal Pro, do I have to buy a WordPress shopping cart like Woo Commerce and add that as well? My goal is to keep the customer on my site when they get to the payment options screen.

Hello,

PayPal Pro is onsite. Your registrants and attendees will complete the entire registration process (including payments) on your website.

You will need an SSL certificate for your site to secure the payments.

Hi again,
Can you be more specific about what happens to the money if a registrant pays using the Electronic Funds Transfer? They enter their bank account info, it gets deducted, and it goes to our bank? You said “It does not automatically process any payments.” What does that mean exactly?
By process do you mean there is something manual required? What exactly? Matching the payment to the user?
Also, are their automatic reminders if someone hasn’t paid?

Sure, the following payment gateways do not process any funds:

check/money order

eft/bank transfer

They actually provide information to the registrant/attendee on how to complete the payment. The registrant/attendee would then follow those instructions and you would manually update their registration with the payment information.

When a registrant selects one of these payment options, then their registration status will be set to pending and they will receive an email letting them know that a payment is due.
