Hi there

I want to set up a race calendar listing all running and cycling races in my region.
This requires that I should be able to categorise my race types as either running road / offroad, mountain bike, road bike. etc.

I also need to allow for specific data about a race to be captures such as “Is goody bag includeed”, “Upload route map”, route record times etc.

  1. Is there a limit to the specific data I can display per event with your application and can I categorise all events, as specified above?

  2. Can I have user accounts, which represent sport club personnel, so these people can set up their own events, whilst not being able to create / maintain events linked to other sporting clubs.

Hope to hear from anyone soon!

Hi Corne,

1) Well, if I understand right you want different data per event, in terms of questions? If so, then yes Event Espresso can do that. You can create questions which are allocated to question groups and these are in turn allocated to an event, so you have a lot of flexibility with what event shows what question on registration.

We also have a category system which when tied in with one of our shortcodes ( [EVENT_LIST ) can be used to display events by category.

2) We have the Roles and Permissions Pro add on that will do what you are asking (Roles and Permissions Basic is a requirement of this addon). It will allow you to create user roles that have access to certain parts of Event Espresso. The Event Manager for example can be set up to create events, but they are limited to just their own events.

Note that it does not provide a registration system, you would need to use the default WordPress system or a third party plugin such as Members or S2Members to deal with user registration

Here are some ways you can Test Drive Event Espresso, and if you have any more questions, let me know.

HI Dean

Thanks a mil for the quick response.

As part of the creation of events, will those members creating events be able to upload route maps, registration forms etc?

I am very new to WordPress. I am going to try out the test drive options tonight. Is their any support person that can help me if I have any problems?

Regards

Hi,

It depends on what access you give them, if you allow them access to the Venue Manager (to create venues/locations) then they can add those and the venues can display a map via Google Maps.

Registration forms, again if you give them access to Questions and Question groups they can create their own for use in their events.

If you have any questions feel free to post them on the forum and we will get back to you as soon as we can.
