I have a question in my registration process that is a drop down. The default shows up as – please select –
Can I change the default to one of the answer options?

With Event Espresso 4 the only options in the drop-down should be your answers, here is an example: http://www.screencast.com/t/p404Qo9rOOe
The first item in the drop-down will be the default answer. You can arrange the order of the questions with the up/down arrows.

This is not the case. Here is a screenshot of my dropdown question

Ah, I see. Sorry about the confusion. I was testing with an upcoming version (4.6), which has this change. I see that in 4.4 that the “please select” is the first option. Let me ask around about any options to change that in 4.4, but I do expect that in the next month 4.6 should be available and it will be change in 4.6 core.

Before this is marked as resolved can someone just confirm that you can’t do this? Seems like it should be within the feature set..

Hi David,
Any version before 4.6 will display the ‘- please select -‘ for the default dropdown value. There is no filter to currently allow you to remove that value within those versions.
4.6+ removes that option and displayed only the values assigned within the question.

I’ve succesfully used jQuery to prepopulate checkboxes in forms, perhaps the same could be done for dropdowns?
