I have read many of the past support items, but can’t get my calendar to load. The short codes for tickets work. The [ESPRESSO_CALENDAR] shows nothing. I have tried creating a new page, adding the code with the old editor. Nothing. I added a plug in and your short codes from an older post. Please help. Thanks

As an update. I was able to get the calendar to load using the iFrame code, but would prefer the shortcode worked. Thanks

Hi there,

Leave the current calendar pae with the iframe as is incase anyone is currently visiting the site, but can you crate a new temp page and add the shortcode so I can take a look?

Not sure if this is what you wanted. I created a page with the shortcode for the calendar.

Thanks

Hi Mark,

Yes, thank you, that’s what I needed.

So, I can see the shortcode is parsing and the calendar assets are loading on the page (normally with issues like this it’s becuase the assets aren’t being loaded, often becuase of a page builder, but here they are).

Something is blocking the calendar’s javascript from running on the page.

The iframe output doesn’t load a bunch of content and none of the theme/plugins assets that would normally load on a regular page, one of those are likely causing this.

First, create a database backup of the site (just to be safe), plenty of options are available for this but one I use is Updraft:

https://wordpress.org/plugins/updraftplus/

Then, to troubleshoot this I would use the Health Chek & Troublehsooting plugin:

https://en-gb.wordpress.org/plugins/health-check/

Install and activate that plugin and then go to Dashboard -> Tools -> Site Health -> Troubleshooting.

When you enable troubleshooting mode what it will do is set the site to only not load any plugins and a default theme, but only for you, the login in admin.

Then in the admin bar, go to the Troubleshooting mode menu and Manage Active plugins, enable Event Espresso and the calendar. (You can only enable plugins in troubleshooting mode if they are ‘normally’ active on the site).

Then load the above page:

https://waterwerks.ca/?page_id=4830

Does the calendar work then?

If yes, now try enabling your theme (you an do that form the troubleshooting admin menu).

Does it still load?

(Note at any point you can go to Troublehsooting Mode -> Disable Troubleshooting mode to switch back to loading the site ‘normally’)
