I adjusted the CSS to display thumbnails on cell phones and it worked until yesterday. The thumbnails display when you use the browser viewport at cell phone sizes but not on the actual phone itself. I tried removing the Overflow and also changing the maximum width in the CSS with no improvement. CSS example: |
Hi there Cindi, This can be done by using some CSS. A team member has shared some CSS here: https://eventespresso.com/topic/event-calendar-images-on-mobile-devices/#post-72782 See his notes in the link above. Then add the CSS to your child theme’s stylesheet or through a free WP plugin like Simple Custom CSS or Reaktiv CSS Builder. — |

I have tried the CSS listed in the post you suggested – no effect. I have a sandbox version of the site that works both on the phone and in the browser with the appropriate viewport. When I moved the site to the production hosting, I could see the thumbnails on mobile phones. Now I can see the thumbnails on the production site with the Google viewport set to less than 350px. But they still don’t show up on the phone. As far as I can tell, the only difference between the sandbox site and the production site is the hosting provider and the sandbox site did not have the last update of Event Espresso installed. http://www.kouturecanvas.com is production site – Go Daddy (and yes, I did pay attention to the GoDaddy note Can you tell me if it was the update or the hosting that is causing this issue? Or give me something else to try? My client is very irritated because this was the reason we chose Event Espresso. Thank you! |
Hi Cindi, I can’t see the styles being applied on your live site currently (which would explain why the image is not visible) How did you add the custom styles from this post? Are you using a plugin cust as My Custom CSS? |
No, the site uses Dynamik and I added them in the CSS Builder. When that did not work, I edited the actual calendar.css in the ee4-events-calendar folder. The thing that is really confusing to me is that the CSS is EXACTLY the same in my sandbox and production builds. The thumbnails show up in one and not in the other. |
Hi Cindi, Are there any caching services being used on the site? What happens if you add the CSS through a plugin like My Custom CSS or Reaktiv CSS Builder? — |
I did follow the GoDaddy note about caching – I will check to make sure it has not been reinstated. I have been clearing the cache on the site after each change is made (through GoDaddy’s plugin). I will install a plugin to see what happens, and move all the EventEspresso CSS to that for testing purposes. |
GoDaddy replaced the object-cache.php file, unbeknownst to me. I will follow up with them, because the thumbnails are back once I cleared that. Thank you! |
Just an update – GoDaddy refuses to make the file deletion permanent, so we will be making a hosting decision shortly. |
Hi Cindi, We’ve reached out to Go Daddy to try this get this resolved. We’ll be sure to update this support post once we have more information. Thanks — |
