Calendar Stacking Question

Hi Support Team,

I’m wondering how the calendar add-on stacks events. I am experiencing an issue where some events are below others in the visual display. For example we have a couple of events that run from 11:30 to 1:30 and then there are some more events later in the day. One of the 11:30 events is at the bottom of the list though. Please see here: http://mysmallfactory.com/test-calendar/ and go to Tuesdays in May

Also I have one event that is 630 to 830 and another that is 630 to 10 on Friday and the 630 to 10 is above the 630 to 830. I know it may not seem like much, but I think it will confuse users. This on is at the same url but in March & April

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi Chris,

The 11:30 event that displays at the bottom of Tuesdays has a start time set to 11:30 pm, I think if you change it to 11:30 am it will snap into the right place.

With the 6:30 to 8:30 and 6:30 to 10:00 on Friday events: I did some checking into this and it turns out that fullcalendar.js sorts events by duration, then start time. So if two events have the same start time, the longer one “wins”. There’s an open request for the fullcalendar.js developer to make this customizable, but from looking at their issue tracker, progress hasn’t been made on that.

If/when fullcalendar.js gets customizable ordering added to its feature-set we can look into making that option available in Event Espresso’s calendar settings.

Great Thanks. Good info to know, because I considered changing the name, but now I know that won’t change the stacking order. Sorry about my mistake on the am/pm issue.

No worries Chris. I’m glad those Tuesday events snapped into the right timeslot.
