I’ve been through every possible suggestion to make my Espresso Calendar shortcode work and nothing seems to be taking effect. I’ve tried deprecating the wpautop function, I’ve tried plugins to remove the <p> tags, I’ve tried disabling all non-EE plugins, wrapping the shortcode in [raw][/raw] tags… I’ve installed and configured several plugins to “catch” any errors and nothing seems to help. If I use Google Chrome’s Developer panel I do receive several exceptions, but I’m not sure how to correct those issues beyond what I’ve already done. Could someone please take a look at the site and offer any suggestions? http://www.discoveritt.com/schedule The only thing on the page is the [ESPRESSO_CALENDAR] shortcode and a hyperlink to download a PDF. I’m at a loss here. I’ve heard it could be jQuery or errant code in my theme, but no solution seems to do anything. Thanks! Rush Montgomery III |
Hi Ron, It looks like your running wp-fullcalendar, event-espresso (plus calendar) and another events plugin at the same time. The ee calendar html is not being output to the page so although there are a couple of JavaScript errors the issue is elsewhere currently. The event-espresso calendar will likely conflict with wp-fullcalendar so I’d start by disabling (unless in use elsewhere) that plugin and retesting. |

Oh believe me I’ve been down that road. I’ve enabled, disabled, added, removed plugins… it has no effect on the issue. I’ve disabled all plugins except for Event Espresso… nothing works. Someone suggested the shortcode was being wrapped in paragraph tags, but any and all “fixes” I tried for this resolved nothing. Someone else suggested that it was a jQuery issue but I can’t seem to track down where exactly the issue is occurring. So I’m at a complete and total loss to the point of wiping the site out and starting over from the ground up. I’ve seen a lot of people saying the shortcode isn’t working. Let me reiterate a LOT of people. I know that it’s hard to cover all the bases when it comes to plugins working together, but couldn’t there possibly be more code added to Event Espresso to catch exceptions or something similar? It would seem that EE is in conflict with just about everything. |
Hi Ron, Event Espresso follows the WordPress Coding Guidelines/Standards as much as possible to reduce the possibility of conflicts as best we can. We try to ensure that the we have the least amount of impact on a site as possible. Unfortunately we can not accommodate for other plugins not following these standards and this is were 95% of plugin conflicts arise from, the other 5% I’m leaving open as sometimes (although not very often) we have missed something or need to alter some part of the code to improve upon what we have in place or Event Espresso is being used in a way we never expected. I’m not saying that is the case here, just in general. This currently does not apply to Multi-site installations, officially Event Espresso does not support Multi-site although user’s are using it with varying degrees of success. Multi-site compatibility will begin to be addressed in v4+ Having said all that if we do find issues with other plugins we work to address these as quick as we can. Can I ask, is this a multi-site install & would it be possible to get your login details in order to look into this further? If so, please send them via https://eventespresso.com/send-login-details/ also FTP details would be highly appreciated. |

My event list code is working, also having issues with calendar shortcode. |
Hi Nicole, There may be some code from the theme that is adding its own formatting that will have a negative effect on the calendar. Can you try wrapping the shortcode on the calendar page with the [raw] short tag? It will look like this: |
