Calendar Previous/Next Month Buttons at Top & Bottom of Calendar

Hello, Does anyone know how it would be possible to have the previous/next month buttons at the top and bottom of the calendar page display? I thought about using jQuery to duplicate the calendar header contents, but that will not capture the javascript click functions for the previous/next month buttons (as it is generated/compiled when the calendar loads).

Could this be accomplished somehow with a calendar callback function? Or is there a setting for the calendar script that I can set to accomplish having the buttons at the top and bottom?

Thanks so much for any suggestions you may have!

Markal,

The buttons for previous and next month should appear by default, unless you changed a setting in the Advanced Settings under the Calendar Settings.

If you are not seeing the Next/Previous button, it might be because there are JS errors on the page. You can check for those types of errors by using Firebug or Chrome Web Developer tools.

If you are unsure about how to do this, we will be glad to look at it for you if you will post the the URL to the page.

Thanks Jonathan,

Yes, our calendar buttons are displaying. That’s not our challenge. My question is about having the buttons display at the top AND the bottom of the calendar.

I don’t think it’s possible without editing the core calendar files, including the javascript files. I was hoping there was a setting in the calendar script that EE is using that would enable button display at the top and bottom of the calendar, but it doesn’t seem that there is.

Please let me know if anyone has any ideas on how this could be possible. Thanks!!

Hi there,

As far as I can tell from looking at the code, the only way to do this would be by directly manipulating the fullcalendar JavaScript. I looked through the documentation and they do include any options to display the header buttons below the calendar in addition to above the calendar.
