I’ve just spent a couple hours digging through various support forum topics – my event calendar stopped working, but none of the solutions already there seemed to apply.
I discovered that the CryptX wordpress plugin v. 3.2.2 causes my calendar to not render. I use this plugin to scramble all mail adresses on my site, and possibly some of the javascript in that plugin triggers the problem of the EE calendar not rendering.
The quick fix was to disable CryptX on the page holding the EE calendar, then it renders again: http://onadventure.dk/kalender/
If it is loading Javascript improperly, then that could cause problems.
