We have upgraded to wordpress 3.5 and also upgraded all the event espresso plugins and our calendar is still not showing up. Any suggestions?

When I view the page source I can see that it is pulling in all the javascript and getting the results back from the query. It is just not displaying.

Hi Linda,

It looks like it’s the formstack code that is calling a second copy of the jQuery library. There should only be one copy of jQuery on the page. Is there a way to make the Formstack plugin/widget not include its own copy of jQuery? If so, that’s what I would recommend. WordPress has a function that enqueues scripts like the jQuery library so when a plugin says it needs jQuery, it will only get loaded one time. If all the plugins use this function, it works, but if one plugin doesn’t, then conflicts like this happen.

You might also try using a plugin like widget logic to make it so the Formstack widget does not appear on the same page as the calendar.

Ah, okay. I pulled that widget and yes the calendar is showing up. But weirdly the registration page is not working properly.

Here, the page is coming back blank: http://lindaberens.com/event-registration/?ee=5

You can get there by clicking the first event on this page:

If you view the page source code, you’ll see that the page stops loading at the recaptcha box. In this case, it looks like the Recaptcha option has been turned on, but there isn’t a valid recaptcha key entered. You can get a recaptcha key here:

https://www.google.com/recaptcha/admin/create

or you could also turn the recaptcha option off.

My calendar is suddenly not showing either – showed fine yesterday. I’ll check my stuff based upon the posts above – hope that fixes it.
Thank you!

I’m not using formstack, and have no issue with recaptcha. The shortcode is where it’s always been and no changes have been made. The calendar showed the day before yesterday, and now it’s just blank space. Tried different browsers, etc – no go. Found out when someone went to look at the calendar in front of me yesterday and it just wasn’t there. Not good.
Any suggestions you can make for why a shortcode might suddenly appear not to be functioning are welcome.

Okay Josh,

So far you are two for two 🙂 lets go for “third time is the charm”. Removing the recaptcha part got it to forward to the next step. So now the page shows up. And I have a submit button here http://lindaberens.com/event-registration/?ee=5

But then it goes to the next page with the confirm registration, but the name field doesn’t allow someone to put information in. Is there some setting that is preventing any of the “personal info” fields from showing or being editable during the registration?

Thanks!

I am having the same problem. My page is producing a blank page. The calendar has never appeared.

I am not using the plugin mentioned above, or the recaptcha option. Please help.

Thank you
suzanne

Hi Robin,

Can you post a new topic and please include a URL to the calendar page? Thanks.

Hi Linda,

It looks like the registration form is missing all of its fields. Can you try deactivating the Roles and Permissions add-on, then go to the event editor and edit the events that are missing the fields on the registration and re-save the events?

Hi Suzanne,

The calendar on your site is not appearing because the active theme is de-registering the jQuery library that is included with WordPress and loading up an outdated version.

The theme developer may be able to update their theme to include a more recent version of jQuery. You can point them to this post for more info:

https://eventespresso.com/2012/08/using-jquery-in-safe-mode/

If you don’t get a response from theme support, please start a new topic in our forums and we will do what we can to assist you.

Hi clewis,

The calendar is working when I go to that page:

If it is continuing to not display for you, can you please start a new forum topic and include your browser’s details so we can investigate further? You can get your browser’s info from here:

Hi Josh,
Yes, I opened it on Firefox and I see it is appearing so it must me a Safari issue.
Thanks,
Cindy

Hi Cindy,

Is that an older version of Safari? The version I’m using is displaying the calendar:
