Earlier this week, the calendar I had on my site disappeared. It was there Tuesday, not there Wednesday. Hasn’t reappeared since. I personally had not updated anything, not even the events. Had the same problem on my dev site. Yesterday I backed up the dev site and updated a few of the plugins just in case, but have the same problem still. As a stop-gap fix, I inserted the [EVENT_LIST] shortcode above the calendar (wish there was a way to specify a number of months….). Can be viewed here: http://www.ri-computerlearningservices.com/computer-classes/# However, in the interest of full disclosure, I need to mention that my host informed me yesterday that earlier this week, one of his servers was hacked and he was in the process of rebuilding it. So, this may also be part of the problem. I just know that from an admin point of view, I had made no changes. Thanks for the help! |
Hi Robin, In this case, it looks like the wp socializer plugin is loading the jQuery library as version 1.9) The current version of WordPress ships with version 1.8.3. So the socializer plugin is deregistering the built in version of jQuery and using a newer version that isn’t officially supported by WordPress yet. In version 1.9, the jQuery team has removed the .live() method from their library. I will create a ticket for the devs to update our JavaScript to be compatible with 1.9. In the meantime, can you alter the socializer plugin so that is uses the bundled version of jQuery that WordPress uses? The code is on line 1076 of wp-socializer.php in the wp-socializer plugin:
You could change it to:

Hi Robin, It looks like other folks are having similar issues with the WP Socializer plugin: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/wp-socializer-causes-many-javascript-errors?replies=8 I left a note in another thread and nicely asked the developer to update their plugin to include the version of the jQuery library that’s included with WordPress. It may help to add your voice in the WP.org support forums by leaving a review or comment in one of their support topics. If you do happen to go to the WP.org forums and have a moment to spare, would you be so kind as to leave a review for Event Espresso? Here’s a direct link to our Review page: |
